The Art of Stillness

"Yoga citta vritti nirodhaha" – Yoga is the stilling of the fluctuations of the mind. (From the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, second verse of the first chapter.)

In this event, we experientially explore the timeless wisdom of this sutra by cultivating stillness through breath, movement, and sound. We begin with 20 minutes of Integrative Breathwork, where conscious breathing activates our vital energy, quiets the mental chatter and creates profound space for presence. This powerful practice will charge your solar plexus chakra with energy, ground you in the moment, soften the edges of restlessness and prepare your mind for the movement practice ahead. Next, a 45-minute Hatha Yoga practice bridges the body and mind. Through purposeful movement and stretches aligned with conscious breathing and intentional moments of stillness, we harmonize the physical self and balance the energy flows within, aligning with the principle of “nirodhaha”—stilling the turbulence to make way for clarity and ease in body and mind.

Finally, we immerse ourselves in a 30-minute Sound Bath experience during Savasana, the corpse pose. The resonant tones and vibrations of various sound healing instruments dissolve lingering distractions and tensions, guiding you into a deep meditative state where stillness can fully blossom. This 2hr journey aims to embody the essence of yoga by enlivening and balancing your vital life force energy, quieting the mind, soothing the body, and reconnecting with your deepest sense of peace. Don’t miss this opportunity to embrace stillness and rediscover balance within. We are honoured to help facilitate that experience for you!
